Understanding the Paleo Diet
If you are new to the Paleo Diet, you might be wondering why in tarnation health freaks are talking about cavemen all of a sudden, but hang in there. The Paleo Diet is radically different from many other diets because it is based on our history by researching what we ate for millennia to survive and then choosing those foods to promote a healthier, cleaner lifestyle . . . one that has literally kept humanity alive for thousands of years. In other words, if we didn't hunt or gather it millennia ago, you probably can't eat it.
Sound scary? It doesn't have to be! In fact, the Paleo diet is becoming one of the easiest ways to promote healthy immunity (especially for those with autoimmune issues or inflammation), to lose weight, or to live a cleaner, healthy life that can prevent many diseases down the road. Now, if you were to adopt this diet, it would mean giving up the three staples of the Standard American Diet (SAD): refined sugar, grains, and dairy, along with beans, vegetable oils, and that can seem impossible. It's true, switching to such a radically different diet can be confusing and shocking, but the results are definitely worth the sacrifice of giving up foods that cause obesity, heart problems, degenerative diseases, and a plethora of other diseases.
So what can & can't you eat?
